Class Descriptions:
Anusara Inspired Vinyasa: A flowing style of yoga that blends an integrated system of precise alignment principles with a life-affirming vision to connect us to our highest motivation for practicing yoga.
Beginning/ Advanced Beginning Yoga: Introduces basic principles of yoga asana (postures), philosophy, relaxation, and breathing techniques. Poses are taught in stages of difficulty with use of props, making yoga accessible to everyone. Develop balance, strength, and flexibility through standing, seated and inverted postures. Appropriate for those who are injur free. Level 1 & 2.
Belly Dance 101: A 12-week class outlining history, posture, fundamental movements, vocabulary, introduction to zills and the diverse roots and shoots that make up our art form. Starts May 7. Next session starts Aug 6. $120 for 12 weeks or $13 drop-in.
Gentle: Basic standing and seated supported yoga poses to restore energy, provide healing, reduce stress, soothe the mind. For those with restricted mobility, current injury, and compromised immunity. Level 1.
Intermediate Yoga: More advanced asanas including longer inversions, forward bends and deeper backbends. Home practice is encouraged. For those with minimum six months experience with yoga. Level 2and 3.
Introduction to Yoga: For people new to yoga or those wanting a refresher on the basics. Learn the principles of movement, breath and philosophy that form the foundation for a fun, safe yoga practice. Pre-registration required. Next series will start in September. Kirtan: This fun and meditative practice combines call-and-response singing and chanting Sanskrit mantras with instrumental accompaniment. Kirtan creates a joyful mood, develops one-pointed focus, and offers nectar to the heart. Song sheets provided. No experience necessary. All levels, ages welcome. By donation. Coordinator, Peter 332-0388. Second Saturday of the month from September to May. 7-8:30. See you in September.
