She has studied yoga since 1980 and taught since 2001.  Her teaching is characterized by careful sequencing of poses, anatomical awareness, and instructions designed to reach a variety of body types and abilities.  She is skilled at observing her student’s bodies, and uses that information to help them develop their own body awareness and inner confidence.  The teachers who have influenced Alison the most – Lynne Minton, Donald Moyer, and Mary Lou Weprin -- all studied with BKS Iyengar. Alison is a graduate of the Inner Dance Teacher Training Program (2001) and the Advanced Studies Program at The Yoga Room, Berkeley (2005).  She continues to study at the Yoga Room each year.

Christalyn Simpson (907) 345-5007, RYT
In 2007, Christalyn knew one thing for sure and that was that she needed lots of yoga. What better way to achieve this than embarking on the Inner Dance Yoga Teacher-Training program! Her training at the studio has provided a solid foundation based on B.K.S. Iyengar and Anusura and the study of yoga philosophy. But more importantly, the training program provided an avenue for healing and development of inner-strength through self-discovery. Yoga continues to be her life boat at times of rough water allowing her to traverse this river of life more steadily. Yoga is a wonderfully challenging, ever-changing practice. In her classes, Christalyn shares her love of yoga and it’s potent ability to strengthen, heal, and bring balance to mind, body, and emotions. In addition to yoga, she is a certified Reflexologist offering her another modality to support health. She is glad to be a part of the yoga community which is a source of inspiration, friendship, and growth.

Heidi Flynn, RYT, (907-348-8727)
When Heidi stumbled upon yoga in 2006 it was love at first “savasana”! After a lifetime of activity and working as a fitness professional, she immediately felt the benefit of yoga with improved flexibility, balance, and endurance. Yoga met her Western desire for physical fitness, but unexpectedly led to discovering that the real gift was in the stilling of the mind, the opening of the heart and the rekindling of spirituality. Heidi blends a strong physical practice with inspiring music and philosophy. Her light- hearted style, optimism and energy creates a safe and nurturing environment in which her students can explore and grow in their own practice. Heidi’s gift is the ability to tailor the workout to the specific needs of the individual as she helps them discover their full potential. Her greatest joy is teaching; she truly believes it is a privilege to share what she loves with others. Heidi currently divides her time between Alaska and Arizona where she has an enthusiastic following in both places. She completed her 200 RYT at Inner Vision Yoga, Chandler, Arizona May 2008 and is currently enrolled in their 300 hour Master Teacher Training program.

Kristiann, a Registered Yoga Teacher, completed her training in 2008, and mentored under the former prenatal yoga instructor for 7 months prior to taking over teaching the class herself.
